Any hobby's or interest (other than Access)

So , it's assumed that you don't play the stand up bass in that orchestra ?

No, it's an electric 5 string.

Although I do stand up and play sometimes.

as sad as it may seem computers are my hobby. i love building and fixing them..

WOW another farmer living the good life!

...except we give access to the entire cows on our fields, not just the dismembered heads

Yea, we tried that but we didn't have enough land to graze the whole body so we only let just the heads graze.:)

I have always wanted to do woodworking and for the past year I have been gathering tools and researching techniques, tips and etc.,
That's great Shane! :)

My father does woodworking as well. The last house we lived in had a kitchen where all of the cupboards and drawers were made by him. He's got a million different tools in the garage too.

How long have you been doing this?

As for the pressure, I take my mind off it by trying to figure out how I would survive if the government gets to the point again where they are pushing too many people to starvation, and a war results. That's not a great thing to say, I know, but it sure is a how-to challenge. :)

I have had an interest level in it for many years but haven't had the pocket book to match it. I have done different projects through the years but I really didn't have the appropriate tools to be doing the job. In the past couple of years I have gotten into the position where I could start buying proper tools to do the job so in the past few months I have dove head first into doing different projects. Right now I need to set up my shop so it's giving me some really good practice building counter tops, cabinets, work benches and etc. After I am done with these items and practice at least makes me better, then my wife has some "honey do" projects in the house for me to tackle. I really want to get to the point that I'm building furniture. That's where my real interest level is.

I love to dabble with mechanical things. I have old mopeds, old motorcycles, an old 1962 Rambler American Sedan and a Fergy TEA20 tractor which keep me quite infused in twrling wrenches and getting greasy. Also I dabble with lawn maintenance equipment and tractors for neighbours.
It keeps me well away from woodworking tools and the very hazardous and ill constructed projects. I would love to have any skill in working with wood but after many attempts at items as simple as birdhouses ending up looking like birdghettos I have decided that it would be safer to give up entirely.

birdghettos?! I'm sitting in my truck, by myself and laughing out loud. Hope no one sees me and thinks I've lost my marbles.:o

Building furniture? Will I see a "Shane's Furniture Mart" chain sometime in the future? :)

As for me, I don't have a "honey" yet, but my roommate was just let go by her boyfriend (after 4 1/2 years!). And she's damn smart, and cute too! :) There might be an opportunity for me there, but I'm not counting on it.

So were you actually sharing a room with a girl who had a long term boyfriend?

britney spear/christina agurlera/ etc wannabe!

I'm guessing she had blonde extensions or a wig, no knickers and mickey mouse ears? And put in 15 differing notes where previuosly there had been one?

Sharing an apartment, not just a single room. And, he lived in a city 2 hrs away because his college was there.

Why? Is that a "know-know" in England??

Well Brian,

I don't know what the guy is up to, but the girl I'm living with is very, very loyal.

I know for a fact that before I moved in, she went over to see her boyfriend to ask him if it was OK that I stay there. She was paying through the nose for rent, and I know she wanted some help with it. That's probably the way she was looking at it.

But, it still makes me wonder why a guy would ever agree to that?? (Although it's not completely uncommon among everybody)

By room mate - you don't actually share a room, a house or apartment more like?

If so thats perfectly normal here - if the boyfriend lives out of town.

When you said 'room mate' I assumed you meant share a room. Which would be slightly questionable. However sharing a flat or house is quite normal.

It's an American thing this room mate phrase - like world series or American culture, it bears no relation to the true meaning

Oh, it doesn't huh?

and I suppose you think that a football is something you kick with your feet instead of throw with your hands, huh? :)
