Apply filter automatically (1 Viewer)

Hi there,

I want to copy a master form to create new forms that filter the information automatically when they are opened. I can do this by setting up a query in the Recordsource, but it won't let me edit the information in the form.

Microsoft's help said: "Access can apply a filter automatically when you open a form if you set the form's OnOpen property to a macro that uses the ApplyFilter action or to an event procedure that uses the ApplyFilter method of the DoCmd object."

But really, I can't figure this out.
Any ideas?

If you open the table's recordset, you can use a Filter by Selection command from the toolbar to show e.g. All users with last names beginning with S. You can toggle between the filtered records and the full recordset. Access remembers the filter, and if you use an ApplyFilter to the recordset susequently it will pull up those same records. If you want to filter the records in this way you first have to create the filter as I have described.
