I'm guessing you are gay Galax - ?

I'm talking to you aren't I :D

Perhaps you would like to explain why you guess I am gay?

You jumped on Brian about his comments. Are you gay?

No I am not gay. I just don't see why someone should be discriminated against on the grounds of their sexual preference.

You believe the scientific stuff about being gay?

You believe the scientific stuff about being gay?

Yes. But it doesn't matter anyway. If a person simply chooses to be gay it is still their business, not mine or anyone elses.

Being able to choose kind of shoots a hole in the scientific proof thing doesn't it?

No. I said it didn't make any difference if it was a choice.

Is your bigotry something you were born with or did you make a personal choice?

Please don't change the subject, you jumped in here with the scientific thing, I thought you had a point to make. So you are saying it could be hardwired into a person or they could make a choice to be gay?

Edit - You say it does not matter? Sorry my las comment could have been unclear...

It is hardwired.

The original subject was whether anyone had the right to persecute on the basis of sexual preference. It was you who jumped in with the scientific thing.

I never changed from it being hardwired. I simply said the reason didn't matter.

You think the hardwired part is something like the gene thing they talk about?

Homosexuality has long been seen as just another variation in the nature of humans by many cultures.

The primary source of persecution of homosexuals is the Bible. Do you even know where this single verse is located in the Bible?

Not sure about the Bible thing. I don't have to go that deep to realize something is out of wack.

If there was something like a gay gene, it seems like it would be long gone, since by definition gays don't recreate?

I just don't buy the whole it's how they were born thing, what am I missing?

Many genes are linked. You get one you get the other. A gene that does not increase fitness can be promoted if it is linked to one that strongly aids fitness.

A single copy of a gene can provide some benefit while two copies can be a disadvantage. For example a single copy of the gene variant that causes Cystic Fibrosis protects against Tuberculosis while two copies causes the disease. This is why such genes persist in the population.

Research in Italy found that women with gay brothers had significantly more children on average than typical women.
