Whats wrong with some African leaders? Each time they stay long in power they become nutbags...
Any one with ideals why they behave like that:confused:

Must be the heat it would drive me nuts.....

Off to Tunisia next week on vacation, expecting to come back a nut job myself, 40 degrees out there at the minute, that can't be good for you

"Absolute power corrupts absolutely". You can write that down if you want. :D Our first president, George Washington, absolutely refused to serve more than two terms because of this quote.

Also, I'd wager that there's nobody else to keep them in check. If populace are too concerned with just surviving or see no benefit in being politically active, it's easy to get away with lot of things.

Someone had said that democracy is really only an option for a fairly literate, educated and economically stable country.

I could be wrong, though.

QUOTE]

"Its possible not to be concerned with what the state does, but not possible not to be affected by what it does"
Perhaps people must be encouraged to be active in politics.:D

maybe something from the states, is actual a really good idea -Limit the time a leader can be in office...
3 terms in office so something like 12- 15 years in total

seems pretty good to me

And if they decide not to go, then do the African way, stage a koo and oust him from power :p

Perhaps a purge on corruption may help. It seems to me (an outsider) that the leaders and cronies live in luxury whilst people are starving and in poverty.

Or the country spends a fortune on civil war or cross border wars and again the people die of hunger / drought.
