Does anyone else work with Astrology / Astronomy data?
Do you think it affects your life on this rock?

After over 6 years on one large scope project with multiple interactive deliverables, the market took a turn for the worst. There are mass layoffs in the industry that include all of the associated support functions.

So of course I planned for a project to end many years ago and used the opportunity to catch up on many things. Then out of the blue, I was asked to help get a project on track. Darn, didn't even get a chance to update my resume' or update any training.

But, this has been an interesting challenge. There are many success people in the business world that use very serious Astrology programs. As old as I am, I never realized how big this really was! Is it just me?

There are serious companies that license the system shown in the link here into products. One has asked me to use such a system and perform data mining to look at relationships. All kinds of relationships, not just love-life, but success, planetary positional, and much more.

After catching up in "what in the heck do all these symbols mean" and other aspects of conjunction of just the terminology... It is somewhat interesting to see how this is used in several industries.

Read the section ii way below on this site -
Yes, my study and Electrical Engineering background has me looking at both Earth and Satellite data.
The Software I use looks at systems from he Sun's POV as well as the Earth's POV.

I have had to come up with many unique Metadata data types to merge these. The Astrology symbols like symbols in the Stock Market are useful for the intended audience.

Have been busy studying more about astrology, converting large data sets, and developing metadata to look for patterns.
Amazing what becomes interesting.

nothing is permanent and the life takes changes on the deeds we do in our future. Ancient astronomers were able to differentiate between stars and planets, as stars remain relatively fixed over the centuries while planets will move an appreciable amount during a comparatively short time.

Looks like this thread died. Just to keep things going, I am an amateur writer of fantasy fiction. Doing the "astrology" thing became a pet project of sorts for me because I decided to make my fantasy domain a four-moon planet. I built a phase-of-the-moon simulator and had a couple of cases in the story line where the combined phases sometimes had meaning.

More or less randomly, I picked a starting set of phases and built a time-line for them. Oddly enough, I found a case in my third novel where all four moons were within a fraction of being exactly full at the same time. Of course, the signs and portents became significant to the story-line since obviously such an event had to mean SOMETHING, didn't it? (tongue-in-cheek).

I don't actually believe in astrology, but it makes a good story vehicle for driving some significant plot events and twists.
