Question automatic backup problem

so everytime i start my database it says its inconsistant and then automatic makes a backup copy. but when i go to the orginal it does it again and my switch board isnt poping up either?
any ideas?

Have you tried compact & repair?

Also try creating a new database and import all objects.

if that also fails give it a try with the decompile.

1. Make a copy of your database
2. Compact
3. With Access closed, from a command prompt enter

"c:\Program Files\Microsoft office\office\msaccess.exe" /decompile "c:\My Documents\Database.mdb"

4.Compact again.

this is what it tells me " microsoft office access has detected that this database is in an inconsistent state, and will be placed in a new database. Access will then open the new database. The names of objects that were not successfully recovered will be logged in the "recovery errors" table"

How large is the db? Can you post it?

thanks everyone i fixed it. What happend was a virus or someone deleted core tables and forms and i just re imported them and then compacted and repair and waloa.
