I just discovered that on one of my forms the property sheet has a “background 1” as the color for the property “Back Color” for a Hyperlink control. What does “background 1” refer to? I come up nothing goggling it.

it is one of the theme colors - if you choose a different theme, then the background will change to the relevant background 1 color for that theme

Background1 is part of a theme (colorscheme) used by MS Office, I believe. There are several BackGrounds/Themes you can choose.

At lest that is what I think it is.

Thanks. If I ever going to learn more of Access is will be because of 2 things. One of course is you guy, but no. 2 "my wife" Almost every day I go to the rehab hospital, there is something she doesn't like about many db on her puter. This time she didn't like the background color on a hyperlink control. It's good therapy for her and an ego trip for me.:) I haven't dug into it much yet, but as I started, instead of seeing a hex value I saw the “background 1”. I suspect the answer will be in conditional formatting.
