Hi,
I have a lawncare database that is split into front end back end and im not the person who designed it. My problem is I have to copy the server's front end and paste it onto all the other workstations. I also then have to get each copy to view the back end on the server. Im sure this is probably simple but i am having the worst time getting it done. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance. ALso this database is access 97 format.

if you dont want to get dirty with code then simply take one connected database, and then copy that to other desktops

as long as the network drive connection is the same on each user, the other users will be connected without doing anything.

I generally connect one file, and put the connected front end on a server for other users to copy down.

Hi Gemma,
I'm sorry but im really new to this part and I was wondering if you could explain a little more about how to do that?

Right click on any of the linked tables in the database window and select "Linked Table Manager". Click on "Always prompt for new location". Click "Select All". Click "OK" and provide the fully qualified path to the server where the BE resides. Make sure all table links are correct in the following dialogs.

Test it. If it works, copy the newly working FE to all the client workstations.

ok i got everything taken care of except now when i try to open the system on the new workstation it says cannot find language dll. and when i try to run access 97 by itself i get the same error. Anybody know how to fix that?

Re-install Office 97 from the source disks?

Look in your system or system32 directory for the missing DLL? Or do a search on the entire computer.
