Bin Laden is dead - YEA!

On Twitter they have something called TweetUps where people who communicate to each other via Twitter meet up in real life.

I'd pay money to be a fly-on-the-wall for a watercooler version :D

I wonder what Rich would do with all those left over characters should he tweet?

That was kind of my thinking for a possible reason for the lack of activity.

The impact of facebook and twitter? I use both. Perhaps Rich and Col have become twerps?

If you dont feel the retraction warrented - its not worth a jot.

We will see, if in the future, you do as I say you are; disguising Insults with pretended humor. If I'm wrong then it is a real retraction, if not, then not.

It's kind of a conditional retraction.

I'm dubious of your motivations, and a full retraction sounds like a reason to congratulate you on some point, or to concede victory of some sorts.

So I reckon a conditional one is the best I have to offer. If however in the future you prove to be unbiased. Well then I would say that I will seek out normalized relations.
And if you prove to be like Brian, a real gentleman, then I will treat you as such.
I don’t see how letting little spoiled brats have their way helps anyone.

You may have a real point there, maybe it's time to move on.

We'll have normailsed relations when you be reasonable and apolgise. That seems very unlikely.

What was the insult in my thread that set you off - so I know - above the ribbing I hold my hands up to?
You can at least tell me what I am supposed to have done?

I know it's tempting to think that it was bickering or hurt feelings that drove people away but my opinion is that it was just the ennui. The bickering was actually entertaining for a while but everything gets boring eventually.

Regardless of whether you find it insulting or not, a yank, brit or any kind of joke repeated often enough ceases to divert the attention. It's neither funny or insulting anymore and the instinctive reaction is to seek out something new. It's not as if there is a lack of candidates vying for our attendance.

That's not to say that this "moving on" can't be done within the WC, it's just that most, including myself, would rather have the "social ball" rolling before joining in. Thus the unanswered void when the American jibe fizzled out.

So for me it's not the American jibe itself that has driven people away, just that repetition will coax people to turn their heads and there was a big facebook fair going on in the next cornfield.

You are so correct.

That and the tedium of not being able to say boo to a goose. In case they play the American Goose card. Differant side of the same coin.

Very yin and yang. I agree, the jibe kind of depends on it.

And the personal insults come back around. Congrats on another thread closed because it gets off topic and childish.
