Bonjour a France
I trained originally to be a Management Accountant, and started using Access with Windows 95 - yes, that long ago. As soon as it became available, I started programming in VBA, soon going on to other languages, but VBA has always been my favourite.
After jacking in accountancy (too restrictive) I worked as a consultant - although I hate that term - working in many organisations using Access/ Excel (as they are the platforms on which the majority of people are comfortable after the almost world domination of MS Office) to produce useful information from the large amounts of data held on the companies' computers rather than just boring P&L accounts or balance sheets.
I "retired" to France in 2007 after a health scare, but once I had shown some businesses how useful VBA could be to them, I am now almost as busy as I was before. There is still, however, a great reluctance on behalf of French businesses to use Microsoft products as they are not officially sanctioned by the French Government, indeed using .doc or .docx documents is very much frowned on - Microsoft is not a French company, after all.
