Hello,

I'm new with Access and VBA and I'm trying to learn how to do things such as import files into tables, make reports through VBA, do queries through VBA, etc... Does anyone recommend any good books that will help me with this?

Thanks!! :)

I would recommend starting with "The Complete Reference" Access 2002. It's affordable and easy to understand. I've designed a few DB's, I consider myself beyond the beginners stage and I find myself still using it. Good Luck!

A book by Pat hartman

1) Running Microsoft Access 2000 by John L. Viescas (To be able to grasp terminology and have fundamental skills)
- I've bought this book and it is a good prelude to an advanced book. This'll get you going if you don't know anything about Access. Good real basic VBA chapter, I like that it explains each statement type for VBA, probably not complete but you are better off with a seperate book for VBA.

3) Access Cookbook (O'Reilly Windows) by Ken Getz, Andy Baron, Paul Litwin (To tailor proven code to work for me)
- Great book with useful code!!!!!!!!

I've designed a few DBs without any books but they help me understand what I am doing instead of doing things by trial and error, to understand.

Another book that I've found good is Access Datasbase and Design by Steve Roman (O'Reily), mostly to do with relational algebra but it helps to understand queries and how your relational table design impacts queries and getting information out of your database.
