A very informative read, delving into recent "ancient" history concerning the dawn of hard drives and innovative accounting.;)

I had heard that story years ago, but the background story fills in the pieces.

I know what they did with the bricks...

Some guy out of California bought them. Then he published this ad:

"Kill those small, medium, and large crawling insects that have invaded your home! Also works with small mice. Results guaranteed if you follow the instructions. Cost $20 for the kit plus shipping and handling fees. Send your order to ...."

So folks sent $26 to the address and got a package with two bricks labeled "A" and "B" plus the instruction:

"Place insect or small mouse on brick A. Press brick B very hard against brick A."

The guy got sued for false advertising, but in the end the suit was dismissed. It seems that the instructions were clear and would work as advertised. It wasn't HIS fault that the little bugs ran off of brick A before the customer deployed brick B.
