Buy Access 2010

Has anybody downloaded A 2013 successfuly yet? As I mention in post 26 my local store here in FL was unable to download 2013. In a few days I will be in TX and I will try again. I am not to happy about no disc.

(Notice to All) Beware of 2010 and 2013 on the same machine) I finally got upgraded to 2013. I wanted to keep 2010 on the same machine. Somebody on the forum told me not to put 2010 and 2013 on the same machine. (I forgot who) (I think it was either Pat or Beetle) The Tech at Office Depot said it was ok as long as I didn’t try and open both at the same time, and that it was put in a different directory. As I mention in an earlier post Staples in FL could not download it. Office Depot in TX was able to download it in a different directory. I open each version at the store and then went back to my motel, and made a small sample db in 2013. I closed 2013 and open 2010 and worked on my current project. When I closed 2010 and tried to open 2013 it would not open. I went into Win Explorer and found my sample 2013 db and it had turned into 2010. I went back to Office Depot and they took 10 off and they had to reinstall 13.

Not just for 2010 and 2013. Only one version of Access should ever be installed on a PC.

Use a Virtual Machine to run any other versons required.

Ye you are right, just as I mentioned above, but even Microsoft says its ok as long as its in a different directory, but it isn't so. All beware,

Ps. I am not sure what a virtual machine, please explain..

The simple explanation is, you install a program like Virtual Box, and then using that program you can allocate a portion of your machine's drive space and memory to be used to install a separate operating system, running it as if it were on another machine. If you're bored, you can read the more technical explanation.

I downloaded your file. Generally I like to keep discussions like this (i.e. you're trying to solve an Access problem) in the forum, rather than by PM, so others may benefit from the solution. If you start a new thread with the question from your Word doc, I'll respond there.

Ok, I understand and I will do that in the future, but I did post this one public first, under (Public and Global Variable) I received a link from big John that was somewhat of a help but didn't answer the complete question. Also last time I posted the Pass Word public someone completly deleted my media fire. I can however list everything except the Pass Word and only email the pass word via PM to someone that is interested.

I already downloaded your app, and I have advice for you but for others who might be reading it, the (new) thread wouldn't make sense without the original question. Just start a new thread with your question about handling the multiple reports and then we'll work on the solution.

A virtual machine is a model of a computer hardware and operating system run as an application inside another operating system. Hence anything installed on it is completely isolated from the host operating system.

XP Mode in Windows7 is a virtual machine.
