Sorry to ask such a dumb question.

The machines at work have just been fiddled with by our IT dept and now the calendar control in Access is missing. IT Dept say they havent touched MS Office - liars. We are using verion 2003.

Anyway when we open our database that was working normally before it now says that MSCAL.OCX version 7 is missing. I managed to copy this from a box that the IT dept hasn't fiddled with onto one of the affected boxes and the database will now at least open.

The problem now lies in that when a form containing the calendar control is opened it comes back with an error 2683 - no object in this control.

Ok so to make sure that our database isnt the issue (it works on all the non fiddled with pcs still) I started a new database, created a form and tried to add the calendar control using the toolbox and more controls option.

The calendar isnt listed anymore. Can anyone please tell me how to get this back without fully removing office and reinstalling it again.

Have you re registered the ocx using regsvr32.exe on the affected machines and added it to the references? You may also need to delete it from the form then re add it.

Alternatively if you cannot resolve the issue there is always the MS Date & Time Picker.

Thanks for the pointer. I had just done it a slightly different way.

I went into:
TOOLS
ACTIVE X CONTROLS

I then selected register and browsed for the MSCAL.OCX file I had copied onto the pc earlier.

Its all working fine now. Just wish our IT dept wouldn't deny doing things - we always find them out :D
