Cancel Event in Before Update Event

I am almost certain my code is correct but cannot figure out why it isn't working so there must be more to it that I am missing....

Simply, I am trying to Cancel an update in a Combo Box's Before Update event in the Form: frmManageAdditionalCollections (the colletions combo box)

      Cancel = True
      Me.cmbCollectionTypeAdditionalCollections.Undo

Any help is massively appreciated.

Given that this is an unbound combo box and having Searched for the answer I don't believe a solution exists.

In the before update event set Cancel=True and afterwards send at "Keypress" <ESC> . (Personally I don't like it, but it works. )

 Cancel=True
 SendKeys "{ESC}"
