Hello,
I am trying to compose a database for a set of power panels. I have entered all needed data into a datasheet. This data gives a breaker number and a breaker description.

Now I would like a graphic description showing the relative location of the breakers. I have tried to do this by using a report and text boxes. My problem is, text boxes show an entire field. I was going to use 24 text boxes for 24 breakers so I could arrange them as I wanted. However, I can't figure out how to make a text box display only one specific record.

I tried using the expression builder to create a filter in the text box properties to filter the records according to the breaker number, but I couldn't get that to work.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you trying to create the index sheet that goes inside the panels (usally two columns)?

What you need to do is put the text boxes for your table fields in the Details section of the report - one text box for the Bkr Nums & one text box for the branch circuit description - side by side.

Then click on the file drop down menu and click Page set-up. Under the Columns tab, the Number of Columns would be two. Adjust the other fields (and other tabs) as you see fit.

Click OK and preview the report.

HTH,

Doug.

PS: I've just started on a very similar project - email me if you'd like to conspire - err, collaberate ... ;)
