Hope that someone can tell me how to find files in MSOffice. I’m using Windows ME, and I have MS Access 20000 installed in Microsoft Office Directory. In Windows Explorer, when I look For Access2000 it doesn’t seem to appear anywhere! Thus, of course, I can’t seem to find the databases in my PC to make backups, etc.
The only way I am able to get to Acess2000 is via a shortcut icon on my desktop.
Anyone have a clue how I can find it?
(Note that I have Ac2 installed in a directory named "Access", not part of MSOffice.)

Look at the target field of your shortcut and see where it is pointing.

The executable for Access is "msaccess.exe'

Target field of shortcut icon is "MS Office 2000 Pro", but this is no help, as already stated. The only place I seem to find the actual db files is in 'my documents'---is that where they are stored?

As noted by ghudson, the name of the actual Access program is

msaccess.exe

Not "Access2000". That said, your files are probably not stored in the same place. "My Documents" is the default used by many if not most programs, so that is more than likely where your files are.

Search for mdb files

Do a search for *.mdb files in Explorer on your C:\ drive.
