change Yes\No field default

Hi there

I've tried to change the default of a yes/No field so that it's either NUll or "" or Yes. This has proved unsuccessful and all the fields are still showing as No for default unless I obviously select Yes

Does anyone know if there is a way to change the Default of this field to either Yes or so that there is Null?

not 100% sure you can
from memory Access has 2 states only yes/no true false 0 or-1
Sql has this 3rd state called null

So if your in Access I think your stuck - Unless one of the gurus correct's me..

an access check box can be triple state yes/no/null

Set a check box up on a form, set the triple state to yes and hit (gently) the space bar and watch it cycle

How do I change it so the value of YES = 1 and not -1, I am trying to count the number of +1's in a report and I keep getting -1
