I have noticed a change in behavior of Access. When I make design changes to forms etc, those changes are automatically saved on exit. I no longer see a 'Do you want to save?' message on exit. How can I put that option back in? It's frustrating that every 'trial and error' change is automatically saved.

what version are you running? i'm using 2000 and am getting that prompt.

is it possible something was changed in the options for that particular mdb?

Ed: I am on 2003. I was getting the prompt until half-way through today. The mdb is on a network, but I cannot imagine that anyone has changed that option. Is it possible to chage it back?

if that's the issue, then yeah, i would presume whoever has admin privileges can do so. if that was changed--and i agree that seems awfully strange--then changing it back should be pretty straightforward.

i'm concerned however about the prospect of someone having been able to do so, however inadvertently, etc...although i use 2000, i cannot imagine any situation in which the office dev team said, "hey, let's not default to prompting users to save changes!", you know?

It's also possible you have code that set warnings to false without resetting them to true. If the db works properly if you close it and get back in, that's likely the problem.

Problem solved. I rebooted and the 'save?' prompts came back. Very strange!
