I have a form and would like to change the background colour, when i select the fill back colour icon and select the colour it changes the colour but you can know longer see the text boxes. Any ideas how i work around this???

I don't understand what you're trying to do. Please explain clearly.

at the moment my form is just plain white, i want to change the colour, along the toolbar is a paint pot which states fill back colour, if i select the colour i want the form changes colour but covers all the text boxes already in the form and i dont want that. I want a blue form with my fields displayed

do you have a box/rectangle surrounding your controls? Are you colouring this, in fact?

if so, click this, and do format/send to back

-------------
if you just colour the background of the form section, you wont get this problem - so i suspect you are using rectangles.

Sorry what do you mean click this? my fields have boxes around them in design view but my form doesnt have any rectangles, if i fill the back colour its colouring in the area behind the tabbed form not the actual form???

I think what is happening there is your text boxes Back Style property is set to transparent. Go to the property of your text box control, select the Format tab, change the Back Style property to Normal.

all the text boxes were set to normal but the labels were all transparent which i have changes to normal, however the problem still persists, if i select the back colour i want it changes the colour but you can no longer see the fields both in design & normal view.

Follow what gemma-the-husky advised. Select your control and change the Position to Bring To Front. If you're using Acces 2007 you will find this Position property when you right click, pre 2007 I think it's under one of the menus in your toolbar (not the Property sheet).

I have followed what Gemma-The-Husky advised but the problem still persists??

In one of your posts you mentioned having tabs in your form. Is this the same form you are referring to?

sorry may have been a bit hasty there, i have a tabbed form with 5 tabs, on one of those is a subform with more tabs, so a tab form inside another, that however is not the one i am trying to change. On one of my threads has my db attached it is the first form that opens that i am trying to change.

As you can probably see there is a small part on the right which worked, this was the first attempt. When i then tried the general part it didn't.

Thanks for your help

Explain what form, what to do etc?

the general form, its the first one to open on the db, where the order status part is and blue i want the whole form like that.

I tend to open dbs differently so nothing loads when the db opens :)

Do you know what the Detail section bar is and the Form header/footer bar? Click on those and change the Back Color propery to : #99CCFF
