Changing property of a field on a continuous form

I've seen this done so I know you can do it but dont know how to do it myself.

I have a form, which is continual, so the fields repeat all the way down the field. Lets say that I tell the form that if a field is blank, I want to change the background color of that field to red. Easy to do, but, it changes the color of that field all the way down the screen for every record.

How do I tell it to change the color ONLY for that individual record on a continual form?

You need to click on the field in design mode and select conditional formating and enter the expression there.
