I’ve been checking website traffic stats again—something I do from time to time. Since I haven’t seen this kind of data published on AWF before, I thought I’d start a thread. The numbers make for interesting reading!

According to SimilarWeb:

Forums where MS Access questions are discussed​

  • Access World Forums (AWF): just under 600k hits per month See stats
  • UtterAccess: around 200k hits per month, down from 300k previously.See stats (Perhaps recent events there have had an impact?)

Websites providing useful information for Access users​

  • Allen Browne’s site: about 75k hits per month See stats

Observations​

Overall, the data suggests a 3–4% decline in traffic across Access-related sites. It’s unclear whether this is just a seasonal dip or part of a longer-term trend, but it’s worth keeping an eye on.

I've not seen this service before & have bookmarked it for future use

I'd always assumed AWF & UA had similar hit rates but clearly that's not the case
The third of the main Access forums Accessforums.net is much smaller still

But compare all of these with MrExcel.com which has approx 3-4 million hits per month
 
Although I've rejoined UA after a 6 month gap, it will never be the best Access site for me.

On their home page it claims ....
Over 250,000 members have signed up at UA to enjoy well over 2,500,000 posts - proving UtterAccess.com is the only source for help with Microsoft Access...and more!

Hmm....!
It seems AWF does have fewer members & posts - currently its:
Threads: 258,584, Posts: 1,418,119, Members: 111,396

...but the fact that it gets 2-3 times the number of site visits says a lot about the experience for site users
 
Perhaps UA is less about wheat and more about chaff?

We likely had far more posts. Years ago, the website was hacked and multiple forums and threads were deleted without a way to recover them.

I and many of our long term members lost thousands of posts, although mostly Watercooler posts. ;)
 
Utter Access get around 200k - down from 300k! - I wonder if you can read anything into recent events there!

Can't remember exactly when, but didn't Google have a big shakeup in what links they provide when someone 'googles' - supposedly to exclude really old data and provide more focused/relevant responses?

It may be the stats have been rewritten to reflect this change - what are the stats for Oct '18? If they have dropped as well it might support the theory.
 
Are we still destroying UA in visits? :p

Not quite correct.
I joined here first then other forums including UA under a different user name before I got banned and all my posts deleted!
I have since rejoined and all is AOK :cool:
Several other experienced members from here have at different times been banned by UA
 
Nice work Uncle! Looks like we get twice the traffic, 50% higher average visitor duration, more pages visited per user, and a lower bounce rate. Hopefully we can improve on those figures with the new software and hosting.
 
What tools are they?
 
So you mean downloadable files, rather than something built into the forum software, right?
 
Gotcha. Nice to know what competitors are doing.
 
I don't bother posting any of my examples there anymore And will def not be getting them invloved with The project manager if I can get it off the ground
 
Does's this site softwere have a referral system I use it on mine?
