Combo Box misbehaving - list drops but won't allow selection

Hi All,

I've been working on this application for a long time, and my combo box always behaved well before, but today I click on the combo box, the list drops down, but I can't select anything. I've also tried typing the item on the list into the combo, which normally works, but I'm not being allowed to type anything there.

I suspect my file is corrupted, but thought I'd check here to see if it could be something else.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think it is got locked, look at the property "Locked" if it is set to "Yes". You find the property in the "Data" tab/sheet for the combo box.

After follow the JHB's advice, if still not working, copy the Row Source SQL (in Note Pad), Keep in mind (or write also) the Control Source, the combo name, events etc (all this in order to save some work) then remove that combo (Delete), design another one and restore all settings.

It was locked, but after unlocking it remains the same problem. I'll try replacing with a new search combo

Main- or sub-form could also cause it, when "Allow Edits" property is set to "No".

My apologies, I thought I had sent a message the same day I clicked the "Thanks" button on Mihail's response. I replaced the combo box with an exact duplicate and everything is now OK. Thank you all for your generosity in offering solutions.
