Combo box with bolded sections

Is it possible to create section headers within a combo box?

I have a few fields linked to value lists but I would like to segment the contents to make them more readable.

I don't want to use cascading combos if i can help it.

No, you can make column headers, but not section headers

You could set up a Cascading Combo Box set with your section headers in your first combo box, and then the second combo showing the section details filtered according to the selection made in the first combo.
