conecting pos to soft solution

Supose You have amount to pay throught cards eg VISA in Your soft solution.
How to transfer this amount to electronic reader of the cards? Does bank have sort of standard for data accepting from soft solution or it is within driver of card reader?

Normally, most card readers for computers are actually used as if they were a keyboard. It generates input like a keyboard but you should look at the development documentation for the card reader in question. Most vendors have either a driver or they are dependent on certain codes that you capture as if someone was typing.

Does that mean that all i have to send from soft solution is amount? Not any other data? And how to send it and where? To serial port or what?

Well, as I haven't used that at all, I don't know. I really think that you should be getting documentation from them for this.

@ SOS in fact I am not talking about scanner, input device. I am talking about card reader, output device which should transfer data from my solution to bank or financial institution
