I've created a database in 2007 but now found out that it will only be used in 2003. The database started as a template but has been modified quite a bit and also includes several macros and some vba. The problem is, when I save the database in 2003 format(from2007) it keeps all functionality when opened with 2007, however, when I open it in 2003 none of my buttons, macros, or vba work. The main project form is also very functionally different. Does anyone know of a way to get my functionality into a database that will open in 2003? I really don't want to spend the time redoing all this in 2003. I've uploaded my database if anyone wants to take a look (its split front end and back end) The front end is the one with problems.

Thanks for the reply Pat, looks like I'll be spending some time reworking this database in 03.

Hi,

I have the same problem in converting my database 2000 to 2007. When I open my database in 2007, I can see all my tables, forms and reports. When comes to save the database in to 2007, I click on the file menu there were only close database or Exit database and on other options. There were no "Save as" that I can save to 2007 format. Then, I create a new database and import all my tables, forms and reports to the new database. However, all my hyperlinks and macros don't work. Is there a way to turn around it? Or, I have to recreat all my forms and reports in the new version 2007?

Thanks,

Le

I just opened an Access 2000 database in 2007 and then used the Big Windows button (Office Button) to get to SaveAs and it was there. I'm wondering if your menus/ribbon has been customized for that db. Have you tried opening the database with the SHIFT key down?

I created a data base in access 2007, but would like to convert it to 2003. i wanted to avoid installing 2007 on allmachines, but i could do that. the main reason i need 2003 is my web server-- they dont support 2007. I tried to file / save as/ 2002-2003 vsn, but get an error saying its opened [by me only though] and cant be saved. i tried opening the data base exclusive, just open, and read only, same problem. any ideas? I would like the 2003 to function the data base, but if i need 2007 to function the 2003 db that is ok too... just need to figure out how to do this.

Is the 2007 db an mdb file or accdb?

Someone gave me a tip-- open data base holding shift key down, then save as and prev version.. worked for me. the graphic on menu didnt come up, got an error msg, but i can change that. all the other buttons work fine.
