Database Opens as Read Only

I have a shared database on a server drive which is also shared across the network.

When opening this database it always opens as read only - which it should not. Using Office 2007/2010 all trusted locations have been set to allow any or all macros and or VB for that drive and its sub folders, etc. No other user has the db open ...

EDIT:
I am seeing the *.ldb file for this database persists after the database has been closed - always present. Why would this be?
Any ideas?

TIA

The file location needs to have read/write and delete writes to that folder.

Also, I know you know this from other conversations, but there shouldn't be any shared database file that people are opening together. There should be a SPLIT database with the backend on the server and a copy of the frontend on each user's machine. Any other way of doing it is likely to introduce problems.

Thanks.

I do know about the db split issues. I did double check the properties | read/write. Interestingly the [ Read Only ] check box is neither checked or unchecked but a solid green. Clicking it until empty and the [ Apply ] only seems to go away. When review of properties for that folder again, it is again solid green. Don't know what that means ...

The problem is only one computer, it works on all the other computers tested.

So the trusted location has been set on that machine? Also besides read/write permissions everyone needs DELETE permissions as well. You didn't state that those were also set.

Apparently there is a problem in that regard. Having IT work on making the share Global down instead of user up - whatever all that net-speak stuff means. Will test again after that adjustment and permissions are set.

ARGH! Still showing up as read only. And yes, all trusted location attributes for that folder are appropo, etc.

What is really odd is even though the database opens with the read only warning. Everything works with the exception of the page in the image. The page just has a subform with a table embedded. Yet is completely disabled. The view in the image is from my machine. The db is completely functional on all machines tested with the exception of one. Which, as stated, everything functions except this page.

I have deleted and rebuilt the page and same results - one machine does not like it... :(
