Database Split

Database split into finanical year wise. One Year Ledger Closing Balance goes to next year Opening Balance. Eg. 2006-2007 Closing balance assgin 2007-2008 year Opening Balance. How can split it? Pls anybody help me. Pls post sample database this way or other best way.

Are you saying you have a separate table for each year, or a spearate file or something else?

The BEST way is to have a database designed so that the year doesn't matter and you can just select what you want to be the current data, not having separate databases or tables.

- my take

Accounts (ie name address etc) stays

transactions once cleared and paid (or whatever 0 moved after 12 months old

so in my current d/b - i would of archived off 2006 and greater into a mirro copy of the d/b - might not be nessary - but does trim the d/based down then i burn a copy off and leave a copy on the server -put a copy into a disc safe - job done

I want new folder contains all tables structure only and also if table contain split year record, that record must be stored. Eg. I want split 2007 year record, I enter 2007 in textbox, 1-04-2007 to 31-03-2008 year data stored into new folder name 2007.
