There have been a lot of posts similar to this, but none that I can find that address the issue exactly.

What I want to do is force my main report to display my subreport exactly as I have made it when there is no data in the subreport. Although there are no records, there are still headers and footers in the subreport I want displayed. And for pagination reasons, I can't pull the headers and footers into the main report. I don't want to code it to display some sort of placeholder message. There must be some setting that forces the report to show the subreport structure when there are no records. Anyone know what it is?

Thanks. That's not really what I want to do though. I'd prefer to force the subreport to be visible (the headers and footers would show, but the details would be blank). It would save me a lot of monkeying around with the reports.

Then add some dummy data that will always be available and hide it

Maybe I'm missing something, but that didn't work. I created an unbound textbox in the details section of the subreport. I tried multiple permutations, setting it to equal a constant (1), another control in the subreport, a control on the main report, and a control on the form that calls the main report. I also moved the textbox to other sections in the subreport. Nothing worked. Has anyone tried this with success? An other ideas?
