I have Acrobat Distiller installed and if i go to printer options in windows, distiller is set to print in color. However, when i print in access and i look at the distiller properties, its set to print in black and white. So i have to change it to color every time i want to print a page. Is there any way to make it default to color? thanks

Code to get Distiller to print in color?

right now to print im using this code:

DoCmd.OpenReport('A Report',0,'dealer','[Dealer #] = 12222'

the problem is that, even though distiller is set to print in color in printer properties under windows, it defaults to print in black and white from access. So i need a way to get it to print in color. Im open to any ideas. thks

You might need to re-install Distiller. I use distiller quite alot for printing from Access. I have never had a problem yet.

forgot to mention i have distiller version 4.0

AAhhh that might be why then. I have distiller version 5 which comes with adobe acrobat version 5

Not sure why it defaults to B & W though

I have Adobe Pagemaker that includes Distiller V4 and I don't have that problem either. So I think it must be your installation.

interesting thing to note that i just found out. it only defaults to black and white when its set as the default printer. when its not the default printer it default to color printing. wow weird, still doesnt solve my problem though. anyone know the code to switch to the distiller printer since i cant have it as default?

Have you tried setting the printer for the report?

In design mode of the report select File and then page setup.

Under the page tab there is a option to print either to the default printer or to another printer.

Once you have set the correct printer to print to save the report. It should now always print to the correct printer.
