Are there any advantages/disadvantages to distributing an Access packgae application versus storing it on a server and having users access only 1 file through shortcuts?
If you use a "stand alone" database, only the one computer has access to it. Updates to data and the ability to get at the data can only be done on the one machine.
Traditionally, I has not been advisable to call application over a network. Today however, it is good practice to have data Back End (BE) on the server and a Front End (FE) on the client.
