Yes BUT, if the code is in the main form, there is no subform record when the main form code runs the first time because you cannot create a subform record until the mainform record (parent) is created.

Pat I am not that stupid.

Main Form - A date gets entered
Subform1 - a Crop and Variety is selected
Subform 2 - A Customer is selected - Code runs to check last number

What happens when you select a record in subform2 when there is no record in subform1?

Subform2 is not visible until a Crop has been selected in Subform1
