Hi all,
I have Access 2016, and picked up a book specifically on forms. Problem is this book was written for Access 2007.

There is a part in the book which describes Access Forms having an auto-format mode. This mode allows someone to create the style/look of their form and then save it. And then apply it to another form.

Under FORMAT \ Auto-format.

There is also a Youtube video - the title of which is "Microsoft Access AutoFormat - Free Tutorial"

I don't find this feature in the design view of my Access 2016 form builder.
Did this feature get removed?

Thanks!

Are you asking about a form template: File > Options > Object Designers under Form/Report Design View ?

No, I believe the o/p is talking about the picture attached.

Thank you all!

I looked in the listing he provided for modified functions - and then it clicked that this feature was not removed but the ribbon control icon was removed. I simply added it back to the form design ribbon - and now its there. I have a form I created that I like to style/color and format. I was able to same this as a style and then re-apply to other forms I'm building.

Thanks! :-]

Hi. Congratulations! Glad to hear you got it to work. Good luck with your project.

If you are doing it that way, look at the Templates option in Access Options mentioned by Micron.

Thank you all!

Thanks Micron,
When you say File > Options - do yo mean in the backstage?

thanks for figuring that out. Its years since I looked at this item
However whilst its fresh in your mind I would suggest you look at Themes - a bit like Autoformat on steroids

I have no idea what a "backstage" is. The File tab is one left of the Home tab. I tried to insert a pic but this site only allows url based images??

Microsoft changed their office suite products - and added what they call the "backstage". The frontstage is the main interface. When a user selects the file tab now the user is in that part of the program called the backstage. That is where the options are. This is current now with all office suite products.

With Access 2016, if I click the File tab - the system then brings the user to various choices - system options, save, new and open file. Navigating from there to system options, the system shows the general options, customize ribbon, etc. Is that what you were thinking I would navigate to?

Thanks

I use 2016 (365). Still had never heard/seen it referred to as that, so I guess the answer is yes.
I would have liked to have my Access and Windows version as part of my profile info but this site doesn't seem to provide for that. Might be useful info to a lot of posters if we could.

Hi micron
That's why many of us include that info in our forum signature
