Error - Unrecognised database

I have recently split a database due to multiple users now using the database. In the past week users keep getting an error - unrecognised database for the front end section. The back end of the database is fine. I am wondering if thew cause could be from people having a form open linked to a table and someone else is importing data into that table. I haven't monitored enough to know if this is exactly the cause but wondered what else could cause it. TIA

Yes they do, it is stored on their C Drive and the data back end is located on the network drive.

I was having issue we disabled the leasing as recommended than applied recent Windows updates it was resolved
