Even Better News - Edinburgh Festival

So what was the name between 1960 and 1965?

The period 1960 to 1965 is in the 1960's, so therefore the name in the 1960's was British Railways. It may have changed in 1965, I haven't looked or have the energy to do so.

So you are saying 1965-1969 wasn't in the sixties:confused:. Which decade do you think those years were in then?

I wasn't referring to the period after 1965. I merely pointed out that 1960 to 1965 was actually in the 1960's and the trains were called British Rail. If they did change in 1965 then we are both right.

That's what I was pointing out to you. You said Oumihexi was wrong when she said tartan carpets were so 60's British Rail. She was right so apologise and also follow your own advice in other posts to pay attention.:D

Perhaps you need a wee holiday? Scotland's nice at this time of the, em well, right at this minute it's sunny :D

No thanks. It's flooded in Fife.

Anyway, I'm off to Germany in October, us pensioners can't afford too many hols.

Leistershire is also flooded.

Oh, you don't need money to come visit Scotland, we live in caves and scavange from the land. If your motor bike will get you to the border you'll be fine, as long as you're prepared to walk the rest of the way :D

Who wants to go to Germany? It's full of fun and beer and festivals, especially in October :)

We went to Bearbrook once before they have German stuff there also!

Fab! They do something similar at Bearbrook, near Ottawa around this time of the year! Early harvest time, perfect for such fairs.

That would be because the owner is German :) We dragged Barbie and Ken along, I insisted we stay there when we were up at Ottawa, what a brilliant experience! The county fair was on that weekend too. Barbie was not amused, I think Ken wanted to jump for joy at the "real world" ! Needless to say they drew the line at accompanying us to the Aboriginal Experiences.

Next time you plan to head to the Ottawa or Montreal area you MUST let us know, we can direct you to lots of things that you would find interesting in the area.

Thanks 50, I'll do that. We did pretty good last year, managed to see Tornonto; Quebec City and Ottowa all in just two weeks! We both totally fell in love with Canada, so I guess we'll be back at some point, once this stupid recession is over :D

What if ones passport has expired?

Lets hope this years fringe will be as good as the rest - regardless of the mess they've made of Princes Street :)

There are blogs and pics and images and photos of the disaster that Princes Street has become. And don’t try to manoeuvre around in a car, the busses are a nightmare and I pity the poor delivery drivers.

It's a crying shame so it is, at this time of the year. People come from all over the world to - be harassed by the mess!!

They are just providing the correct head attire for the national pastime aren't they?

Dodging road works? LOL, I don't get ECC, they always manage to plan some major roadworks to coincide with the festival. God forbid that tourists should see the city in all it's beautiful glory. Maybe they're just fed up of all the visitors and don't want them to return.

Great line up this year for the Fringe though, as I can get a train right into the centre I don't need to miss a thing ;)
