Am new to Access,...
I have set up a mailing table database (mdb) and must export it as a dbase lll (dbf) file for a mailing house. They will use this dbf file to address a mailing of magazines to our subscribers.

When I export the table to a dbf file I am getting 7 total files in my selected export directory?? I get the following:
EMAIL.NDX
LNAME.NDX
PRIMARY.NDX
XXXXX.DBF
XXXXX.DBT
XXXXX.INF
ZIP.NDX

Am I doing this correctly? I expected just a single .dbf file,..
What are all the 7 files ?

Thank you for your input for this access novice to exporting to dbf

The .dbf file is the table that was exported. The .ndx files are indexes. I don't know what the .dbt and .inf files are. One of them may be for a memo field if the original table contains one. You should be able to eliminate the .ndx files by removing the indexes from the Access table or by exporting a query rather than the table.

The .dbt contain a memo field.
The only way to remove it is by changing your memo field by a text field with a long length.
