Has anyone come across this error in Access 2k and if so, do you have a work around.

Its caused by updating on ore more fields per record for 7000 ish records (hitting a default lock limit of 9500 locks per file (I assume this means updates). I never had this problem before during imports etc in Access 97 (with a db with 1 million records).

I have 60k records and this stops after 7700 records with that error (ADO).

In Dao it has a different error, but stop at the same record count (suggesting the same problem). Both run on Access 2k windoze 2k.

Not sure, but have you tried changing Access option to only lock the edited record?

I gathered that it was the amount of changes I was trying to make, not the locking of the record (as its only me and me in the same Access db and no-one else).

But it appears its a works machine fault as it ran fine with no tweaking at home and processed the lot.

Is the network at your work Novell NetWare?

If so, that's your answer - the network admin would need to increase the record lock limit in the server settings to stop this from occuring.
