hi there, my current filze size of a database is roughly 5 mb, it is for an assignment and must be under 1.5 mb.
- i have taken the following steps
1. compact on close
2. compact and repair
3. importing everything into a new database
-nothing is dramatically reducing the file size, i really need a suggestion to decrease it, step by step method, so i can meet a deadline
Help!!? Thanks.

How many tables, forms, pictures etc do you have. Also how many records?

Probably due to embedded pictures on forms or reports.

It crossed my mind - hence the question.

how on earth can there be a minimum size?

it seems crazy, but taking out any embedded images is the way to go first

even images on buttons? - use text instead - not sure about this?

Show us the db is the first answer... and as said why under 1.5mb a db is as big as it takes to accomplish the task set we don't even know what you are tryng to do?
