How about a thread to chat about anything other than politics? For starters I'm guessing most people watch a movie or TV from time to time (please no political agenda's, it really is driving me nuts)

So, what's your favourite Movie? and/or TV show?

I think I have to rate Dogma as my favourite movie, TV show, has to be Dexter :D

Right now, I'm watching Series 1-8 of Red Dwarf (anniversary gift to my wife). I just finished Series III.

On a weekly basis I watch:
Burn Notice
Mad Men
Criminal Minds
Dark Angel (recent addition)

It's really important that it be a 2 word title, seemingly.

Favorite movies (no particular order):
Iron Man
The Gods Must be Crazy
Star Trek 3
The entire Star Wars series
Oklahoma
My Fair Lady

I'm sure there's more but I just woke up suddenly and can't think right now.

Operas:
Carmen
Don Pasquale
Otello
The Barber of Seville

Political stuff:
Just kidding

TV wise I found the second series of Rowan Atkinson's Blackadder series the funniest (and well constructed) programme ever. Cutting, witty and consistantly FUNNY

The early stuff was the best, I really liked Holly!

Why did they only make two seasons?

The Gods Must be Crazy
Wow, I'm impressed! I loved that movie too
Star Trek 3
The entire Star Wars series
Kinda lost interest in Star Wars when they went all CGI

Operas for me have to be Gilbert and Sullivan. Although I did see the ballet version of Carmen and it was brilliant!

Good, I'd hate to have to turn you into a g:eek: LOL.

I liked all the Blackadder shows. Now why did he have to turn into Jim Carey with Mr Bean?? That has to be the worst program ever made.

Comedy wise, you can't beat Rab C Nesbit.

There's naff all worth watching on the box these days:mad:

But if there was, what would it be? ;)

You can't deny Top Gear - probably the best "magazine" show ever!

Well yes there's one or two but few worth watching

Why did they only make two seasons?

My guess is that the US was crushed by a recession and then got distracted by 9/11 and all the major corporations going down and people were too busy watching CNN and Fox News to watch another sex-charged show.

Thank you, thank you , thank you!!!!

All I ever really need is a little distraction to help the subconscious to find the answers to my problems and you just provided that, thanks guys!

Of newer British comedy shows - Gavin and Stacy is excellent, not sure how well it translates for a foreign audience. But the best sitcom here for a while in my opinion.

It's pathetic:rolleyes:

I've never watched Gavin and Stacy so I can't comment. Maybe I'll take a look next time I see it billed.

You are such a negative person - care to offer any words of joy, praise to something?

What do you enjoy Rich?

Have i got news for you
never mind the buzzcocks
two pints of lager and a packet of crisp (if you can see the outtakes ...)
mock the week

top gear of course -

Films - nothing out there that is really floating my boat, - there seems to be a lot of remakes - and I cannot be bother to watch a film that is probably worse than the orginal .

no more house building progammes or food ones - depressing .

extrodinary people is a good little series - on the verse of being a freak show - yet the peolpe interview , come across as "real people" and you heart kinda of goes out to them - espeically the little girl who has the body of a 70 year aged about 7-8..

House is good .

curently watching a DVD of Carra Dillion - music -Celtic twist - fab
for any one intersted its called the "Red Castle Sessions"

Good choice!

Has anyone seen Intelligence? If you like the Soprano's you'll probably like this Canadian production.

Comics, I like the Simpsons, Family Guy and of course South Park!
