In a subform I am having an issue with a combo box. One field is "craft" such as carpenter, electrician, and so on. This is populated by the user, using a drop down. The second field is a list of tasks. There are different tasks for each craft (over 400 in all). That field is also "fed" by a combo box, linked to a query. That query has the craft names and the craft questions. What I am trying to do is have the user select the craft name then on the adjacent field, select which task. I need the query to only show the tasks associated with that particular craft.

I have attached the data base. The issue I am having is on the second tab of the main form. You select the "craft" from the main form and it changes on the sub-form. Can someone help me to get the Task List to also limit to the craft selected? Thanks in advance.

Select the Craft from where? I only see it on the second Tab. Did you not add the Combo Box?

Hmm, and as long I was looking. You have used words reserved for Access as field names. Ths is going to cause a problem for you because it's a problem for Access, you'll be wanting to change those... soon. Here's a complete list...

You might want to consider a naming convention to avoid issues like this...

For Naming Conventions see...

Oh, and while you are at it, remove the spaces and special characters in your field names and the spaces in your table names, just makes more work.

Thanks for the naming list. Did not realize there were so many. As far as your first question, on tab 2, of the frm_Tgemplate with tabs (haven't changed name yet) you will see a drop down top dead center of the form. Changing the "craft position" will "reset" the subform to allow the user to input data. The first 3 columns of the subform are locked, they are linked to the main form to create detailed data based on the ID which creates a unique record number, the Revision which allows the user to provide revised estimates withing the same record, and the skill set.

That is the part that has me stumped. Each skill set has different tasks. All tasks have been loaded into the tbl_questions along with the associated skill set. The "Task Description" next to the Skill has ALL of the tasks fed by a query, qry_Question List All. What I am trying to do is filter the query by what skill set is chosen so that only the tasks associated with that skill set are displayed. I was hoping to be able to filter the list. Ideas?
