Football Fixture Lists

Can someone please please help?

I am trying to create 2 databases (1) One for a football league, and (2) One for a football 'Cup' competition.

My problem is this;

How can I automatically generate fixture lists.

Example; if there are 8 teams in the league - how can I get the computer to create a fixture list over 7 weeks automatically so that teams always play a different team each week?
(What happens if it is a league of 12 or 6?)

Also; for the 'Cup' competition I want the computer to automatically create a draw - example; There will be 8 mini leagues - the top 2 from each league will go through to the 'knockout stages' which the computer will create. - i.e. Winner Group A will play Runner Up C etc.

You could save my bacon!

Sorry - Ally sent me a reply in the same tone as yourself - saying I've posted it on all the forums.

The thing is - I'm new to this - I just wanted to make sure I captured the widest audience and I've never been told until now that you can't post questions on all forums.

Can you help by the way as I still need it?

A search of the forum may have been the best place to start.

I just hit Search, typed in Fixtures as the criteria and this thread was returned.

People read all the threads and then help where they can.

Multiple posting actually has the opposite effect to what you're trying to achieve, as people get annoyed by spending time answering the thread in one forum only to find its been answered elsewhere.

You must be patient, most of the people who contribute are also at work and answer threads when they can.
