New to Access 2010, I design a form for a contacts manager dB and I would like to group all field labels to give them a different background color than the field values. How do I achieve this?

Also Access has all measurements in metric and I can’t find anything under options to switch to imperial units. How do I switch the measuring units?

point 1: shift-click each label to select multiple labels.

the properties sheet will then show you common settings, but will be blank where is no common setting. Any settings you change will apply separately for all controls in the group.

point 2: can't immediately see. funny, in tools, options it shows inches, but in controls it shows centimetres. (A2003)

Thanks Dave for the help

I know to shift-click each label but that only makes their background color the same. What I want to achieve is something like the attached I got it from the web

I don’t have tools in my ribbon but I have Database Tools and I don’t see there anything about inches or similar. In the options which tab you see the measuring units?

it's now "the topleft button" , options

colour
what do you mean with regard to the labels? some are bold, some are not, they all have a pale background. maybe something like rgb(200,200,200) would give you the right pale grey.

you may instead want "windows theme" controls, rather than "access theme controls". Another option setting.

ok I got the units settings settled, it was in control panel / region and somehow it was set to metric. I switched to inches and now all units in Access are inches.

I will give a try to the windows theme, I just want the background color of the form to be different like the picture I attached

the background colour of the FORM is different to that of a label

there is a background colour of each form section. Header/Detail/Footer
