I hope someone can help me with this. I can not see the detail section of any of my forms when in print preview and also when I print the detail section doesn't show up. I am using Access 2000. Let me say that this feature was working but something happened and it happened so fast I don't remember what it was. I hope it is just a setting I am overlooking but I have been through every drop-down list, every toolbar, and every help file and still can't find out what happened. I also should tell you that since this happened I now see a bunch of hidden tables starting with 'MSys...'. That's all I can tell you. Can someone please help, this is for a class project and I'm resposible for the forms and reports!!!!!!

you get those mysys* tables in the workgroup file - maybe you have secured your database and don't have sufficient permissions?

If you are uncomfortable with the System Objects being shown, you can go to "tools", "options" "View" tab, then UNCHECK the System Objects Box. This will hide all the MySys*. As far as the details section being hidden... hmm.... (1) view the properties for the detail and make sure the visible property is set to "yes". (I was able to replicate your problem by setting the visible property of the detail to "no".) If this doesn't solve your problem... (2) Open the Northwind Database and see if you can view the details of one of the forms. You might have permission problems. Are you working on a computer at home or one somewhere else?

I am working on my own PC but when I took a copy of the database to work and tried it on that PC (running the same version of access) the same problem occurred. I checked the properties and it was set to "Yes" and "Always". I will try the Northwinds db and let you know what happens. I am not sure of how to check the permissions, where would I look for those? Thanks for the quick response. At least now I have a good direction to go in instead of the nearest bridge!!!!

To view permissions (you must be logged on as an admin or Owner) On the Tools menu, click Security, and then click User And Group Permissions. On the Permissions tab, click Users or Groups, and then click the user or group that has the permissions you want to assign in the User/Group Name box. Under Permissions, select the permissions you want to assign, then click apply.

If you can't get this to work, you can zip it and email it to me and I'll give it a shot.

Hi, I did get into the permissions and all of them were checked except the run box which was grayed out. I've sent you the zipped file using winzip. Thank you for taking the time to do this, I can imagine how busy you are. Any answer to this is greatly appreciated.

No prob. Just trying to give as much as i receive

I did not have any problem opening your database and viewing the forms. i sent you an exact replica of your database and a redesigned version. Hope you're able to view everything. If not let me know and we'll figure it out.
