Form view: lower part of screen hidden; dragging form footer does not help

Hi All,

I have designed a form which requires the whole of the screen for showing. The screen is maximised.

One third at the bottom of the screen is a blank area marked by a thin horizontal line. The blank area covers part of my form.

When I use the scroller bar on the right of the screen, the hidden text comes into view, but this is not an acceptable solution because text on top scrolls out of view.

In design view I have dragged the form footer down to remove that 'blank area', but this has no effect in form view (user's view). I have also dragged the bottom edge of the page down (in design view) but to no avail.

What do I have to do to remove that blank area from the screen?

Thanks.

Form problems

Adrian,

Perhaps it is better to hide the objects you don't want the user to see by setting their poperties: Visible = NO and set it to YES at the appropriate event.
That gives you better control than trying to cover them with something else.

Hi Trucktime,

Sorry, you misunderstood my question. I do not want to hide anything from the user.

There is a panel which covers the bottom third of the screen. The bottom third of my form is covered by that 'panel'. At present, the only way to make the bottom third of my form visible is to move it up by means of the scroll bar. That is unacceptable.

I want the whole of my form to be visible without scrolling. I want that blank 'panel' which covers it to disappear.

I think it has ***something*** to do with the Form Footer, but I do not know what to do to make that panel disappear. I tried to drag the Form Footer bar further down, but that has no effect in form view.

Further answers please? !!!

Alright

Perhaps you can upload the mdb with the form, so we can have a look.

Hi Trucktime,

Thanks. I have now found the cause and simple solution.

In Design View of the Form, I clicked View

and "view Header/Footer" was switched on.

The moment I switched it off, the blank footer which was covering the Form disappeared. Problem solved.

I have never worked with headers and footers before. This is really a dead-simple database designed for my own use and I don't need them.

Thanks for trying to help me.
