I have 2 forms: Employee List and Employee Info

I want to be able to select an employee in my combo box on Employee List form, then click a hyperlink/button and go to THAT employee's information on Employee Info.

The CAVEAT: I want to have the FULL recordset for Employee Info form(i.e. i do not want to query Employee Info form to include only one employee), I just want the one I am looking for to be the FIRST ONE TO SHOW UP.

Please Help! :D

PS: I'd love for the method to tie primary keys like [EmployeeID] = Forms!...[EmployeeID], which is a field that is not shown on the forms, but queried (i.e. docmd.findRecord is not a good option)

Employee

Why not put the combo box on the form Emplyee Info and in the After Update Event of the combo put something like this:

Me.RecordsetClone.FindFirst "[EmployeeID] = " & Me!Comboboxname
Me.Bookmark = Me.RecordsetClone.Bookmark

After making a selection the right employee will show up without the
need of pressing a button.

I am a huge fan of combo box lookups. BOTH of my forms have them. I want to be able to edit the information on the Employee List form, looking up employees quickly with a combo box. THEN IF NEEDED, drill down into the Employee Info form to THAT employee. I want this form to function independently, however.... It has a combo box lookup too, where i can quickly jump to specific employees.

The truth of the matter is the employee list is actually a subform on the parent... and I don't want to try a nested subform. It will just get too overwhelming to look at...

Any other suggestions?? :rolleyes:
