Hi Folks, I'm working now with a simple database for students and i have a little bit problem for you to ask and I know that someone here in forum knows it... In my form I have fields of student's Subject with Corresponding Units. My Question is, Is it possible to sum up Automatically the Units for all the Subjects using Expression Builder ONLY? :(

Your help will be much appreciated!!!

I would create an aggregate query and sum the units by student and probably by year or semester. If you want the information displayed in your form, then create a subform bound to the query and insert the subform in your main form.

Do you know how to do that in Expression Builder? Just the Total Sum of Units. For Example:
Subject----------------------Units
Reading----------------------2.0
Algebra----------------------2.5
Statistics---------------------1.5
Total Units-------------------(?)

I need to automatically calculate the total Sum of Units using Expression Builder ONLY. Have any Idea

I'm using access 2007 version.. Can you explain more about your tutorial because I'm having a headache understanding your example.By the way, I have 9 fields to sum up.. Thanks for the help

in AC 2007, with your query open in Datasheet view, click on totals. Scroll to the bottom of the data in the view. You should see a totals line for each field with a drop down arrow. Click on the arrow and select sum for the fields you want totals for. Save the query.

BTW; the video is not mine. I believe it is self explanatory.
