I set up users etc on my database and it was working fine, i then downloaded an example from this forumn and now i am getting the following message, i can not find the .snp file (dunno if that helps but cant find it on my machine). It comes up with my user name but thats it, when i put the password in it says:
"You do not have the necessary permissions to run this .... [database file address]"
I am now starting to panic!

Not a lot of specifics here. I take it that the s/w is trying to run a report.

Can you post the code that is giving the error message?

Can you Compact/Repair/ZIP and post the database?

Just blind guess + my experence. If you downloaded a security protected database by using "make this my default workgroup infomation file" instead of "create a shortcut to open my secured database". Then whatever database in your machine you want to open, it'll always ask for username & password, then you can access your db. Is that your situation?
