Help with my Booking File

Hi I'm totally new to MSAccess and I really need help on how to sort out my booking.

Basically I have a Booking File and I want it to show a Messagebox when they book an event and the event date is already reserved OR the event date is too far away or close from the day they booked it

Can anyone please help?

use an if then statement:

if yourcontrolname = value then
msgbox ("already booked")
else
end if
