My name is Ray. Since I moved over 2 years ago, I have only been able to get contract work. A couple months ago, I was hired to develop an interim database for a startup health insurance arm of a local hospital in Dallas, TX, USA. I was hired because I did some great things with Excel in the past two years for another area of the hospital.
I signed up on this website because I can theorize how I want this Access database to function; I'm just having trouble wading through everything in the help facility trying to find out how to do it. I previously wrote VBA in Excel which I could initiate by recording a macro and I've been pretty successful modifying the code. That's how I learned it.
I spent more than 30 years in finance and accounting and eventually began handling automation projects using Excel and whatever other applications I had available to me like Cognos Impromptu and AS400 queries. So, my IT underpinning is pretty thin and I apparently need frequent hand-holding.
