hi folks,

i have a question about developing a packaged dbase application. i want to be able to distribute an application that does not allow the end user any way to view the code and table relationships w/o having to set up user/workgroup security. is this possible, (MDE)? can anyone recommend steps they've taken to ensure that folks can't steal their ideas?

many thanks to everyone for any comments and ideas.

hi pat. thanks for the response. so in order to really protect your application you have to do user/workgroup security. i've never really done user/workgroup security, but will this require someone to basically act as a DBA assigning new folks priviledges to the dbase? can the user/workgroup security be integrated with NT security? so after a user logs onto their NT account their priviledges for the Access dbase are already set? as sort of a separate question, are there any advantages to developing a web based application (Access BE and ASP FE) where users only have access to the application through their browsers? thanks for your comments.

thanks for the help pat.
